The nature of support from Hip Hop culture missionary praxis

One of the most unique, creative and influential in the cultures not only in America North but all over the world call the hip hop culture. hip-hop can be seen locally and globally as style, music and attitude continue to spread rapidly through various means. Amidst this explosive culture, we also note that the Church of North America is fighting and its popularity and appeal fades from year to year. However, the renaissance is thousands of Christians as recorded in the biblical sources that are Wisdom Back to the reorientation of the mission of God. A movement known as the mission church, is written in the body of Christ to the Church, and to bring the Gospel of Christ in a way and the contextual relevance to all peoples. It would be wise to advise the mission church to seriously the possibility that the hip-hop allows the table. Indeed in this document is designed to demonstrate that the nature of hip-hop and cultural norms are very conducive to the local missionary and often even the world.

Before examining why the hip-hop and missionary theology will so well together, we must first understand what culture is hip-hop and the ecclesiology is the first mission. For the misunderstandings of many, hip hop is another word for rap music. This confusion stems from a lack of commitment from those outside the hip-hop community with those of inside. In rap reality is an aspect or a cultural artifact that has left the hip-hop community. "The sub-culture hip-hop manifest in people, as people identify the needs in your life that meets hip-hop culture is based. To minimize the hip-hop, rap, saying a lack of respect, because the hip-hop, that's life "(The Hip Hop Church, 66). The hip-hop is a culture, a worldview is a way of life." Hip-hop dance, art, expression, pain, love, racism, sexism, broken families, hard times, research of God and overcome "(The Church of Hip Hop, 61).

For this work, we also point that hip-hop in its essence is the culture of urban youth, particularly African Americans accounting and Latinos. In the book, The Hip Hop Church the author acknowledges that "embraces the culture African-Americans, Latinos and urban general of the United States (63). Now that we report later, the influences of hip-hop has crossed the borders racial and geographic, however, attest to their cultural identity and authenticity of roots predominantly urban black and brown. From the beginning, hip hop has found its birth in the African Diaspora. And then, based on the urban experience in a large part of the Northeast and West Coast. "It real hip-hop is a term that describes the independent collective consciousness of a specific group of people inside the city "(The Hip Hop Church 63). And so worldly life activities of people they do occur and the hip hop culture.

The missionary community, however, represents a community various theological who are committed to continuing the mission of God. It seems at this stage that the missionary movement (or at least in the title of mission) is a course High theology and the media for most whites. However, a homogeneous group is not the intention nor the desire of people in this theological framework. In fact, they represent the opposite, a community that wants to cross all boundaries that God made. They claim that God has and continues to interact in history human, and decides to use the people, especially the Church, which hands and feet in this world. And, as John and Jesus was like 8:21 p.m. sent into this world, followers of Jesus are also sent to this world. They are called to share the gospel of Jesus Christ, and represent the kingdom of God here on earth. In practical terms, they believe that to do this, we have been known to cross race, ethnicity, demographic and cultural boundaries. At the same time, we do not compel a particular culture or practice in each context. The Church missionary is explained in this way, 'be faithful to their vocation, the Church must be contextual, ie it must be culturally relevant in a specific context. The church regards the time and the dynamic Gospel and its reality context "(18). And the charge is to bring the good news of Jesus and his kingdom come to a world that is broken, sinful, and slavery. Relevance is a key word for this community that are sent around the world. Participation of cultures and the recognition that each culture can have the gospel has been applied to basic education within the missionary community. "The Gospel is always transmitted through culture. It is a good news for humanity lost and broken as embodied in the world sent by the people of God, the Church "(Church missionary, 18). Therefore, no culture is about following the takeover, no culture is so lost that can not be saved.

With this backdrop of missionary theology and hip-hop culture that began to establish the foundation for these communities, cultures and movements, and why it might go well together, since both movements are fascinating have a profound impact in the world in which we live. We must begin to recognize that, although not necessarily coincide in terms of human population and demography, ideologically the two go together very well. At unpack from a distance.

Within the hip-hop community, there is an ongoing debate about what is truly hip-hop, and that is a by-product marketing of rap music. Within the rap as a genre is underground and a social conscience and broadcasters famous rap pop stars and rich. Hip Hop Church breaks down like this ", is a rapper from the industry or produced by industry, but they rap about what is popular, and give the culture of hip-hop a reputation for being just about materialism and sex "(83). However, there is another definition for the rapper conscious or as is called the master of ceremonies. Here, he said that "a master of ceremonies, however, seeks to maintain the purity hip-hop and away from the festival, see the performance, rappers ever. The MC is regarded as a lyricist with something to say it is for your heart, your soul or intellect. No rhyme about what is popular or important for hip-hop heads because they are materialistic custodians of culture and the message of hip-hop. leaders are trying to drop some knowledge on life and the best way of life in this world "(84). Is the administration and the consciousness of hip-hop that I like to explore a bit more towards the missionary praxis.

Michael Eric Dyson, a leading intellectual states black last book I mean? is "conscious rappers are both praised it does not say that for what they spit in history. No brag exorbitant jewelry, women or cars too expensive. Conscious rappers talk about racial injustice of police brutality, instead of imprisonment, political prisoners, endemic poverty, education and more radical inequality "(66). There is a deep critique of injustice and the supremacy white invaded the road of life in the United States within the hip hop community. Dyson reminds the reader that there are many "Rap is a social awareness and conscious connected to the historical evolution of political protest and aligned with the progressive forces of social criticism "(64). Nobody is away from the rhetoric of hip-hop community resistance. All aspects of life are under the microscope and are considered easy prey for critics. "Hip-hop, in fact, draws attention to the failures of public schools, police, churches and preachers, leading to light at the same time, embarrass the same time "(The Hip Hop Church, 81). The rules of American life has never been demonstrated to be valid for urban youth, especially those who are black and brown, and therefore the criticism is the natural response of the escapes and the community deaf. Question hip hop, especially if the American dream is available to urban youth, if the police and the national government are systems that can be trusted "(The Hip Hop Church, 106). Some teachers are aware of the ceremonies went beyond the struggles of the ghetto, to solve national and global problems that may not benefit them directly. Dyson explains that "sometimes also have linked their work to the missions of social justice, is a song galvanize the social response to Police Brutality or dramatize and inspire social outrage against an unjust war "(Get It?, 64-65). And so we see a strong and powerful voice of criticism injustice who dares try to oppress them.

Generation hip-hop are the children of those who lived through the sixties and seventies, as adults. However, the approach to the hip-hop generation is different, they are even more resistant to the status quo. "Civil rights of people said," Let's dress and play the rules of the road junction white. Hip hop has seized the reins of their fate and insisted that music is his way, and whites might happen "(Get it?, 56). The hip hop generation wants to be firm and demand the recognition of human dignity, and not be forced to assimilate more.

This resistance and criticism Name is probably much with social commitment and missionary churches of the prophetic voice of oppressive systems. Preaching the Gospel is important the mission church. The gospel can be summarized first, through the teaching of Jesus in the Gospel of Luke, said: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He sent me to proclaim liberty to captives freedom and to give sight to the blind, to liberate the oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord "(KJV, Luke 4:18-19). Freedom and liberation from oppression and poverty has become vital for the gospel to those in the mission communities. "Jesus always thought it was his mission to show the signs of the presence of the Kingdom of God through the exercise of its authority over the breach, domination, oppression and alienation "(Missionary Church, 104). And to see Jesus in the Gospels disarm "the powers and authorities" mentioned in Colossians 2:15, the mission community also seen as something outside the body of Christ is calling you today. In response to the example Jesus can lead Christians to "share the complexities of modern business life: governments and the corporate lobby for the benefit of disadvantaged or burnt land, lobbying for fair laws, solidarity with oppressed peoples, efforts to end hostilities between nations, support of the marginalized and the creation or renovation of compassion socio-economic structures (Church Mission 106). The possibilities and overlaps exist philosophical mission for intelligent people to take advantage of hip hop and objectives similar interests. Because there are few cultures that have been influential in his heart a passion for justice and truth. It would be stupid not to take advantage of hip hop with its "new voices of resistance from a group of people without rights "(The Church Hip Hop, 68). For the purposes of hip-hop and the church missionary are both, at least in part, to fight for the oppressed. Why not recognize that "the voice of a generation is heard to to give a kind of non-power of the people "and that the objectives of the mission church also enable them oppressed and the poor (The Hip Hop Church 72). It seems weak as a potential alliance.

The missionary church has also made important statements diversity of both racial and ethnic. I think the church of multicultural research mission could benefit most by participating in hip hop culture. For, as I mentioned that the hip hop culture in its essence is the culture of urban youth in black and brown, which should also address the influence of transboundary hip-hop has had to date. We must keep in mind that "hip-hop is an important force and cultural influence in young people without distinction of race, demographic or religious "(The Church Hip Hop, 36). Because this is certainly not just African-Americans and Latinos who listen to rap music, or love the style of culture. Rather the biggest consumers of rap music are actually white. They are actually putting money in the industry for his success. "As big consumers of their music, men, whites and adolescents in the United States do an excellent job keeping of hip-hop in the enterprise "(Hip Hop Church 105). For nearly a decade, hip hop has crossed almost every group imaginable racial and ethnic boundaries. Children of all races and all geographic areas are listening to what is stereotypical notion that black music. When this change of pace for many inner city children 'want voice of urban youth culture, especially those of color, and finally the general public "(The Hip Hop Church, 64). And if hip-hop as a means of cross border nature of racial and cultural as well as most crops can not. You need to understand who has infiltrated the area of hip hop influence in some way almost every area of American life. "Culture hip hop is all the film scores of all the award ceremonies of marketing strategies, that music video games, professional sports and, of course, the radio "(The Church of Hip Hop, 37). For this reason, if a community is urban or suburban areas, it seems appropriate to at least the hip hop culture to a certain level to take full advantage of its multicultural character.

However, the natural border crossing hip hop spread without national borders. Hip hop is a worldwide phenomenon. Their music can be found in clubs pumping throughout Europe, Asia and Africa. 'The global impact of hip-hop is being studied by researchers like Deborah Wong, University of California at Riverside, who covers Asian hip hop, Marcyliena Morgan and Stanford University, who sought the hip-hop in Cuba and in England "(Get it?, XXVII). There seems no limit influence in the hip-hop is having worldwide. Like McDonald's and Pepsi have become global markets has also made rap music. Can wonder why a mistake and the group fears people (African-American men) could have an influential voice worldwide. Carl Ellis might have the answer in its book, Going Global in which he stated that the African American experience of slavery and oppression has been recognized in the world. He argues that many people around the world have a real weakness in the African American community, either because the empathy or suffering may refer to black people to be resolved. He said: "It's amazing how people around the world seems to have feelings positive toward African-Americans "(Going Global, 85). Given the global awareness of African American experience, logic why hip hop, a product of the African American community has become a favorite worldwide. Therefore, if the mission church provides to be "a blessing to the nations", according to Genesis 12, would be right at the line at times of global influence hip-hop a. In the words of Michael Eric Dyson, I argue that we must be prepared to take a scientific look at hip-hop for no other reason than it has attracted the world's attention and aroused the emulation in a number of different countries and between different ethnic groups "(Get it?, XXV).

Finally, it would be incomplete if a study did not look at the soul and spirituality in hip-hop, and its importance to the missionary practice. Because there are many artists such as Lauryn Hill, Common, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, and to name a few, who, with his social criticism also give a deeper meaning spirituality and soul in their music. It is music that elevates and encourages people to have hope in spite of the harsh reality that many people live. Every word of the prophets are powerful and exciting cultural, and often point to the listener to God in the midst of their suffering. "The Words are important, as a means of social promotion, or as a means of escape from suffering, especially through the exhibition of their intrusion into a group or a horrible neighborhood, or deal with a white supremacist society that refuses to recognize our humanity "(Get It?, 76). And like the musical movements of hope and move forward to the truth, which, inevitably, are the least participation in God's plan for the liberation of oppressed peoples. When it is linked to contemporary music and some prophetic hip-hop artists more aware, you will see that 'Spirituality of hip-hop has links with the theology of liberation "(The Hip Hop Church, 118). Hip-hop in the heart is a child of R & B, Jazz and Blues a son, a son of the Negro Spirituals. And throughout the history of soul music, has there ever been a core element of the release God is proclaimed and recognized. The spiritual side of hip-hop is a powerful alliance of the Church missionary. For that Paul was able to go to Athens and see the altar with the inscription "In God is unknown" and used this sense of spirituality in the context of announcing that "God did this for them to seek and perhaps reach for him. 'Similarly, the mission church can also use the deep sense of spirituality and theology the release is in the hip-hop as a starting point on the verge of revealing the true God in whom "we live and move and have our being" (KJV, Acts 17:27-28).

In conclusion, it is clear that there are many areas in which the hip hop culture is conducive to the missionary practice. Their awareness social and multicultural, global influence, and the soul and the line of spirituality in many churches with missionaries desire to engage socially in society, to reconcile all racial and cultural boundaries, to bring the Gospel to all the world and to encourage faith and spirituality in Christ. Other areas that might be interested in watching the approaches are post-modern understanding of its truth, authenticity, and the opposition over a hierarchy of leadership. It is also important to note that if hip hop has many positive standards that lends itself well to the missionary, but also the culture of man and therefore declining. Be careful with some aspects of hip-hop patriarchal tendencies, sexism, materialism and violence in the context of his message. However, it argues that the hip hop culture is really conducive to the practice mission because of their cultural standards. It would be folly to those concerns seriously missionary theology of at least exploring the possibilities can have when the alliance with hip-hop, no matter where you are. Up Chances are you are, the aspects of hip-hop are there too.
